sterling silver & found shell

Borrowing inspiration form the Fibonacci sequence, this ring explores various facets of this 'sum of parts' theory. By recycling a rhinoceros cast ring shank I am able to reference both mathematical object composition and the process of casting. The incorporation of casting grain into the ring shank further signifies my reference to the 'sum of parts' represented within the Fibonacci Sequence. The focal point of the ring is by far the most direct reference to my source of inspiration. The incremental mathematical symmetry of the chosen shell is often called upon as a visual aid in representing the mathematical logic of the Fibonacci Sequence.
